Meet your volleyball coach

Bjarki Sveinsson

Bjarki is the local physiotherapist and former Icelandic national beach volleyball player. After many years of playing both indoor and beach volleyball at the highest level in Iceland, he is now excited to help other players develop their skills while sharing his passion for the sport.

The training sessions are best suited to beginner and intermediate players. Through personalized guidance and practical feedback, Bjarki will help you improve your technique, movement, game awareness, and overall confidence in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

About this journey

This journey is designed for people who enjoy being active outdoors and have a reasonable level of fitness. Days are balanced between beach volleyball, guided hikes, and sea kayaking, with plenty of time to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the long  summer days in the area's many hot pools. Whether you're improving your game, discovering Iceland's remote nature, or simply looking for an unforgettable week outdoors, you'll find a balance between movement, exploration, and fun moments shared with a small group.

You don't need to be an expert hiker, kayaker, or volleyball player, but you should feel comfortable spending several hours hiking, paddling, and playing beach volleyball. The volleyball sessions are suitable for beginner and intermediate players who want to improve their skills, enjoy friendly games, and experience the sport in a unique setting.

Throughout the journey, you'll have access to Bjarki's volleyball-specific training programme via his app, as well as gym access in Vesturbyggð. The workouts are entirely optional and can be completed whenever they best fit your day.

Accompanying family members are warmly welcome. Beach volleyball sessions and scheduled kayaking activity are reserved exclusively for registered participants due to limited availability.

Rather than following a rigid timetable, our journeys adapt to the weather and local conditions. This allows us to make the most of each day while keeping everyone safe and ensuring the best possible experience. The itinerary below is therefore a draft of how the week may unfold.
